Infection Prevention

In accordance with Texas Health & Safety Code § 81.012, entities that employ emergency response employees must have a Designated Infection Control Officer (DICO). The DICO manages exposures, facilitates communication between departments when multiple agencies are involved in an exposure, tracks exposure trends, consults on complex exposure events, and serves as a liaison with outside organizations and medical facilities.
