CareFlite Celebrates Grand Opening of New Regional 911 & Flight Dispatch Communications Center

State-of-the-art facility enhances emergency response, technology, and lifesaving care across the region

Irving, Texas — April 8, 2026 — CareFlite is excited to announce the grand opening of its new Regional Dispatch Communications Center. This state-of-the-art facility will enhance CareFlite’s capability to respond to emergent and non-emergent transport requests, ultimately resulting in improved outcomes for our patients.
The new Communications Center will be the operational heartbeat of air and ground operations. The Center is staffed by highly trained emergency professionals and powered by advanced technology. By undertaking this significant investment, CareFlite continues its commitment to public safety and customer service.
“This center is more than a building, it’s a commitment to faster response times, advanced technology, and the highest level of care when seconds matter most,” said Nick Zamorano, CareFlite’s Communications Center Director. “We are excited to open our doors and show the community how emergency communications directly save lives across the state of Texas.”

What Makes This Communications Center Different

Highly Trained Professionals: All employees are Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certified. This ensures the highest quality of care over the phone that is unmatched and above industry standard in providing pre-arrival instructions over the phone, for any 911 emergency.

High‑Volume, High‑Performance: The center manages more than 12,000 calls each month, serving as a critical communications hub for emergency response and air medical coordination across Texas and Oklahoma.

•Rapid Response: Average 911 and flight dispatch times are under 60 seconds; from the moment a call is received.

•Life-Saving Impact: Telecommunicators recognize more than 10 cardiac arrests per month, with an average hands-to-chest time of under 2 minutes.

•Nationally Accredited: One of only 10 ACE-accredited emergency communications centers in Texas, recognized by the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch.

•Elite Certifications: All flight dispatchers are Certified Flight Communicators (CFC) through the Comm Link Association, and management staff hold CCM certifications through the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch.

•Advanced Technology: The center utilizes the latest emergency communications technology, including AI-assisted dispatching for ground interfacility transport, online ordering integrated with hospital systems, newest LTE/P25 Harris radio systems, and enhanced 911 caller tracking to reduce delays in emergency response.
